Asia’s premiere incident response company Blackpanda and top US darknet intelligence company, DarkOwl are pleased to announce a partnership that will provide Blackpanda’s clients with expanded protection and detection of cyber risk.
Gene Yu, Co-Founder and CEO of Blackpanda comments, “Blackpanda is excited to partner with DarkOwl. Their extensive knowledge of the darknet and massive database of dark web content adds a valuable resource of investigative intelligence, providing a more thorough understanding of customer risk to more effectively identify and remediate a breach.”
Blackpanda to use DarkOwl platform to scan the dark web and unindexed internet
In the course of an investigation, Blackpanda has three primary objectives: to determine if a customer is under attack; if the customer is still at risk of an identical attack; and lastly, if sensitive data has been exfiltrated. By partnering with DarkOwl, Blackpanda is able to scan the dark web, as well as the unindexed Internet, for any private customer information that could act as a preliminary indicator of compromise, existing gaps and vulnerabilities, or any sensitive data being sold on dark web forums – essentially enhancing the answers to the three primary questions of Blackpanda’s incident response investigation. DarkOwl’s platform also allows for continuous monitoring for any future signs of a data breach.
“We are honored to partner with Blackpanda. As Asia’s top IR and digital forensics team, their reputation precedes them. They are a world class organization comprised of an elite group of security experts from military special forces, intelligence, forensics and law enforcement. Bringing darknet intelligence into the mix of their existing investigative tools is a natural fit,” says DarkOwl CEO, Mark Turnage.
The global incident response market is growing at a CAGR of about 20%
The global incident response market and Asia’s cyber insurance market are predicted to experience robust growth in the coming years, and Blackpanda is well-positioned as a first-mover in this nascent market. According to Mordor Intelligence report, the global incident response market is estimated to grow from US$21.75 billion to US$61.01 billion by 2025, with a CAGR of 18.96%.
In light of this growth and the evolving cyber security challenges global markets face, Gene is excited about the promising future of Blackpanda.“In recent years, we have seen an increasing awareness in the need to keep data secure, as well as a rising awareness for both the need and availabƒility of actual cyber incident response following a data breach. We are confident that Blackpanda and our strategic partners can fast-track improvement on the region’s cyber security incident response services and narrow the gap between Asia and the West,” says Gene Yu.
